Eurasia Motorsport has entered the TCR SPA 500! Eurasia Motorsport is a bi-continental fusion of European and Asian continents. The team has numerous race victories or championship titles in Asian Le Mans, Formula 3, V6 Asia, Formula BMW Pacific Series, Formula Pilota, Formula Masters China and the GT Asia Series. Now, Eurasia Motorsport will strive to add the TCR SPA 500 to their lists of victories. Mark Goddard from Eurasia explains his reasons to join the TCR SPA 500.
What inspired you to sign up for the inaugural TCR SPA 500?
The TCR SPA 500 is attractive because it will be held at one of the world's most iconic circuits and will be for TCR cars only making it highly desirable as the drivers will not be looking their mirrors all the time avoiding faster GT cars. I am sure the TCR SPA 500 will quickly become one of the must do events and its always good to be there at the start.
What can you tell us about your team history at Spa-Francorchamps: when and what was the first race at Spa, and what would you say is your teams most memorable race at the circuit?
Eurasia Motorsport is an Asian based team therefore our history at Spa is very limited. We competed in European Le Mans in 2015 and 2016 with a LMP2 and in that time there was one race held at Spa. That makes it the team's most memorable race!
For fans watching around the world, which parts of the track do you feel will be the most spectacular to watch?
Eau Rouge is the corner most associated with Spa and is a great place to watch cars on their limit. Pouhon is another fast spectacular corner.
How do you feel your car will perform around Spa compared with your direct competition?
We are running the Hyundai i30N and we know its competitive. The car can win with the right driver line-up
