Viper Niza Racing was founded by Malaysian Douglas Khoo in 2015. The team is based in Kuala Lumpur and currently participates in the Asian Le Mans Series, TCR Asia and VdeV Endurance Series. This October, Viper Niza Racing will add the TCR SPA 500 to the list. Nico Ode Praytino tells more about the Viper Niza Racing, the TCR SPA 500 and circuit Spa-Francorchamps.
What inspired you to sign up for the inaugural TCR SPA 500?
We have been racing in TCR for over four years and had always wanted to do Dubai 24 in a TCR car but it always clashed with other series. In addition, SPA is such an iconic circuit that the opportunity to do an endurance race at SPA is a great combination.
What can you tell us about your team history at Spa-Francorchamps: when and what was the first race at Spa, and what would you say is your teams most memorable race at the circuit?
We have raced at many European circuits but this would be our first time at SPA and we are looking forward to it.
For fans watching around the world, which parts of the track do you feel will be the most spectacular to watch?
Eau Rogue of course! To take it at high speed would be something else!
How do you feel your car will perform around Spa compared with your direct competition?
Given that we’ll be racing with other TCR cars, we feel that our car would be competitive. What is important is that the car is reliable, and we don’t get caught up with any incidents.
