CUPRA Racing is in an excellent moment. In 2019 they closed the season as the most victorious brand in the championships racing under the TCR regulations, after climbing to the top of the podium in no less than 70 races. They did it in different parts of the world and in competitions ranging from the World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) to the TCR Italy or Scandinavia, where CUPRA Racing customers became champions.
The 2020 season is exciting, with the launch of the new CUPRA Leon Competición, based on the new production Leon. Jaime Puig, director of CUPRA Racing, explains how they face this important year in the history of the brand.
How is the 2020 racing season looking for CUPRA?
It’s starting in a fantastic way, because are releasing a new car and we are very excited. The reservations have worked very well: the new model has had a good reception and throughout the year we will deliver it to our customers. We are now defining the strategy for the new season, where we will continue to race in the championships under the TCR regulations.
